Summer Shore: A Summer of Learning, Exploring, Fun, and Friendship

Campers explored Spanish with Miss Acosta, learned the basics of coding through Cubetto with Mrs. White, and put their teamwork skills to the test during Summer Shore Olympics week. Campers designed and built new inventions, challenged themselves on the rock wall, and built confidence and creativity through theater games with Mr. March.

Shore's beautiful campus also provided another classroom for discovery. Campers spent time in the Woodland Classroom, took part in scavenger hunts – including a fun and exciting search for the missing Beaver. One Summer Shore counselor, Mai D., also loved taking her group, the Guppies, out to explore. “This is my second year at Summer Shore, and I really love my group. They're at the perfect age, where they want to take everything in, that wide-eyed energy can be infectious,” Mai shared.

Campers also enjoyed a special visit from Mass Audubon. Where they learned about local sea creatures and had the opportunity to get up close with some of the species that call our coastal waters home, including the Shore Crab!

Of course, summer wouldn't be complete without plenty of time to cool off and have fun. Water days brought out the smiles, with campers racing down the inflatable water slide, enjoying popsicles, and lots of great sidewalk chalk art murals. Two campers, Adea A., Grade 4, and her younger brother Enio A., Pre-K 2, absolutely agreed that water days were part of the best days of Summer Shore. “Water day was the best! The slide was so fun!” Adea beamed while Enio interjected, “No, the water guns were the best part!”

From coding robots and learning about local wildlife to climbing, creating, competing, and playing, Summer Shore was filled with opportunities for campers to follow their curiosity and try something new. Most importantly, it was a summer filled with discovery, learning together, and friendship.
