This year we’re excited to bring you into the action through the sounds of the afternoon. You will hear from all age groups, some faculty, and the joyous sounds echoing throughout the background. You may have heard the buzz (pun intended!), but one of the hot auction items at this year’s Spring Benefit was the chance to record a podcast for The Shore Beaver Buzz! Winners, and sibling duos, Nate and Noah Tollerud (Grades 6 and 1) and Stacia and Eve McGee (Grades 6 and 3) teamed up based on their shared interests: local ghost stories. Together, they uncovered some spooky tales from around the North Shore.

In this episode, Lower School Reading Specialist Rondi Kilham shares the heart and history behind Shore Reads - followed by the voices of Lower School Students each reading a page of this year’s book, Broken by X. Fang, just for you. We can’t wait to explore this story across our Lower School classrooms, and we hope to inspire the Upper School to learn from its messages as well. Let’s dive in!

Kindness is the heart of Shore! It is the first tenant of our Community Code and the most commented on aspect of our school noticed by visitors to campus. Our students demonstrate kindness through their daily interactions, service work projects, and reflect on self-respect throughout their health and wellness classes. In this week’s episode, you will hear from Shore students about what kindness means to them and how it is shown around our school. We hope this kindness warms your heart the same way it does ours!

If you’re a New England resident, Super Bowl XLIX was a guaranteed tune-in! The hallways were buzzing in the week leading up to the big game as the New England Patriots prepared to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
If you’re a New England resident, Super Bowl XLIX was a guaranteed tune-in! The hallways were buzzing in the week leading up to the big game as the New England Patriots prepared to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
Though the night ended in a tough loss for New England, we at Shore are still celebrating a victory. Why? We’ve got two fourth graders, Jimmy and Charlie, ready to roll back the game tape and share their favorite highlights, toughest lowlights, and answers to a few rapid-fire questions. In between their hot takes, you’ll hear updates on Shore’s own winter season. Listen as Upper School students share what they’ve been up to, and hear from Athletic Director Mrs. McNall about what’s ahead this spring!

You’ll hear voices from both Lower School and Upper School students as they share the magic of this fun holiday. Don’t forget to join us for tomorrow’s Halloween Parade around the Oval and the Halloween Concert in the Trustey Family Theatre afterwards. From all of us at Shore - Happy Halloween!

This week we’re hearing from a variety of Shore students about books and stories they enjoy. You will hear two different strands of conversation - Upper School students engaging in dystopian dialogue with Mr. Henderson, with some titles from Lower School students popping in throughout the podcast. We have included two links and suggested grade levels for each listen. Reading is an important part of our days at Shore, and we’re excited to share this episode with you! We hope this episode helps you revisit a favorite book or consider exploring your next great read or try out a new genre. We also want to invite all of our listeners to vote for the name of The Shore Podcast! Voting will close at the end of the day on Thursday, October 23.
