Our Community

From the Head of School

A VibrantCommunity

Welcome to Shore! Here you will find a community of children and adults that is vibrant with creativity, discovery, and purpose. Each person in this community has a narrative that contributes to the overall fabric that makes Shore so special.

It is my great privilege to serve as Head of School. I have the pleasure of participating in the learning conversations that are happening all over campus. From our earliest learners to our 9th grade leaders, all are engaged and lend a voice to what happens here each day.

Piaget once said, “Play is the work of childhood.” While Shore offers the finest academic preparation in the area, it is clear that there is joy in the hearts of these children and adults. Our students lean into their challenges with determination and passion. When you step onto campus, you will feel children empowered in their learning and carefully supported in their social-emotional growth and development.

Whether you are a current family, an alumni family, or a family considering independent school for the very first time, I look forward to getting to know your experience and how Shore can be a part of your family’s future.
