Beyond the Classroom

Vibrant Community

We aim to enhance student achievement in literacy across all grade levels by implementing a new, data-driven instructional framework. This framework will emphasize personalized learning paths and targeted interventions based on continuous assessment. A key focus will be on professional development for all teaching staff to ensure fidelity and expertise in delivering the new curriculum. We anticipate a measurable increase of in the percentage of students meeting or exceeding grade-level benchmarks in reading comprehension by the end of the next two academic years. Successfully achieving this goal will establish a strong foundation for future academic success in all subject areas.

To realize our literacy achievement goal, we will launch the "Reading Renaissance" initiative starting in the fall semester. This initiative involves adopting the 'Words Matter' phonics program and integrating daily, dedicated reading workshops into the middle school schedule. We will also purchase and deploy 100 new, high-interest non-fiction texts for the library to diversify reading materials. Furthermore, monthly collaborative planning sessions will be mandated for grade-level teams to analyze student data and refine instructional strategies based on emergent needs. These coordinated steps will provide the necessary resources and structural support to drive the desired improvement in student literacy outcomes.
