  Amber Bock 

  Head of School and Head of Lower School

  Bio

  Amber Bock is the Head of School and Head of the Lower School at Shore. Amber has over forty years of education experience, serving in both teaching and administrative leadership roles. Her extensive administrative leadership experience includes six years as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Weston Public Schools, eleven years as the principal of Bates Elementary School in Wellesley, MA, and nine years as the Superintendent of Schools in Westborough, MA, where she oversaw the education of over 4,000 students and managed a diverse team of 23 administrators. Amber holds a BA in Elementary Education K-8, with a specialty in Literacy, from Wittenberg University and an MA in Educational Administration from Boston College. She has coached aspiring administrators through the Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association (MSAA) Leadership Licensing Program, as well as provided private leadership and instructional coaching to new leaders. In her free time, Amber volunteers and serves on the board of several organizations, and she enjoys relaxing with family and friends.

  John Clark

  Bio

  John is the Director of Student Services and has been with Shore since 2017. John earned a BS in English and Education from Butler University, and a MS. Ed. with an emphasis in moderate learning disabilities from Simmons College. John passionately leads the support service team, in addition to teaching sixth and seventh grade skills classes, and also works closely with faculty in supporting students in both divisions across Shore’s campus to ensure each student experiences confidence with their learning. When John’s not at Shore, he can be found spending time with his wife and dogs on the North Shore, skiing in NH, and furthering his quest for summiting all 48, 4k footers in the 603.

  Ann-Marie Flynn

  Bio

  Ann-Marie has been the Director of Finance and Operations since 2016. Ann-Marie earned a B.S. in Accounting as well as an MBA with a concentration in Accounting Information Systems, both from Bentley University. After graduate school, she earned a certificate for LEAN Six Sigma Greenbelt training which focuses on process improvements within an organization and has a passion for this work. Ann-Marie leads the Business Office team in addition to overseeing Food Services, Facilities and Maintenance, Auxiliary Programs, as well as Information Technology operations.

  Oliver Hay

  Bio

  Oliver is the Head of the Upper School and Secondary School Counselor. He joined Shore’s Upper School Science Department in 2007 and served as the Science Department Chair beginning in 2017. Prior to Shore, Oliver taught science at independent schools in New Hampshire and Washington, D.C. Throughout his career, he has relished the rewards of helping middle school students learn to take ownership of all facets of their education. Oliver is a graduate of Blair Academy, earned a B.A. in Geology at Hamilton College, and holds a M.A.T. from Tufts University.

  Carrie Kirby

  Bio

  Carrie is the Director of Marketing and Communications and joined the Shore community in September of 2022. Carrie has over thirty years of strategic marketing, advertising, and branding experience. Before joining Shore, Carrie worked as the Director of Marketing at a law firm, focusing on setting strategies and building multi-channel campaigns. Before that, she spent eighteen years as a strategic marketing consultant working with clients from multiple industries and six years as the Marketing Communications Manager at I-Logix, Inc. While consulting for a local school, she developed a love for marketing in an academic environment. She earned a BS in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Carrie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and volunteering with the United States Coast Guard Academy Parents Association.

  Katie Kozin

  Bio

  Katie has been the Director of Advancement since 2019. Katie has worked in school advancement for fifteen years and is passionate about building strong relationships across school communities with families, alumni, colleagues, volunteers, and others. Earlier in her career, she worked in volunteer relations and grant writing at a Boston-based nonprofit. Katie earned her degree from Connecticut College.

  Sarah Powers 

  Director of Enrollment Management

  Bio

  Sarah joined the Shore community in July of 2024 as the Director of Enrollment Management. With over 20 years of admission experience, Sarah brings vast experience to the work of admissions and enrollment, having served for many years as a director at other independent schools. She is no stranger to the North Shore, having worked at Pingree (her alma mater), St. John's Prep, and most recently, The Governor's Academy. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Sarah holds a B.A. in History and also played lacrosse for Dartmouth where they won the Ivy League three years in a row and made it to the NCAA Final Four her junior year. In addition to her work in admissions, Sarah is known in the region for her skills as a lacrosse coach, having recently coached at Govs as well as for the Masco Youth Lacrosse Program.
