Impact Report

Thank you!YOU MADE THE GOOD GROW

Dear Shore Community,

The memories we made last year, my first year at Shore, will stay with me for a long time! From my first Flag Raising to my first Head’s Holiday (and a tug-of-war for the books!), last year exemplified the Shore spirit cherished by generations. The students, my colleagues, and our families, alumni, and grandparents showed their commitment and Shore pride at every turn.

As Head of School, I take every opportunity to celebrate our students, as well as our successes both large and small. Here’s a big one: Last year, Shore’s extended community provided over one million dollars to support our students, teachers, and initiatives!

Behind every student's success, there is an incredible community of donors and volunteers who have made those achievements possible. With this report we celebrate you, your generosity, and your impact. We are fortunate to benefit from the incredible gifts and contributions from our community members, including inspiring leadership from our dedicated Board of Trustees, our Shore Families Association (SFA) leadership team, the Shore Alumni Association Executive Committee, and a grand total of 163 volunteers. Their collective gift of time and talent makes a meaningful impact on our school.

This is How the Good Grows. The kindness and generosity you demonstrate teaches our students to be kind and generous, and because of your support, Shore students are thriving. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you!

Warm Regards,

Amber Bock

2024-2025 IMPACT REPORT

Your Impact: 2024-2025 Highlights

NEW STUDENT TRAVEL
We know that travel deepens learning, and special opportunities outside of the classroom are a valuable part of the Shore experience. Because of donor support, in 2024-2025 we added two new overnight trips. In April 2025, Grade 8 traveled to New Orleans and Grade 7 traveled to Washington, D.C. Each trip had an educational and service-oriented focus. Our students are future leaders and are living our mission of becoming healthy, compassionate citizens of the world.

GENEROUS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
In 2024-2025, Shore awarded over $1.2M to 51 students, with an average award of just under $24K. Over 45 gifts from donors were directed toward Tuition and Financial Assistance.

ALL-SCHOOL SERVICE LEARNING
On Giving Day (May 14, 2025), Shore students, employees, and over 40 parent and grandparent volunteers joined forces in Earth Day-themed service learning initiatives, on campus and beyond! From planting in the garden and cleaning up the courtyards, to preparing the new Woodland Classroom space and building birdhouses, to removing debris and obstacles on beaches and trails, the Shore community showed how the good grows. According to several first graders, “Best. Day. Ever!”

FOCUS ON LITERACY
It has long been an important aspect of Shore’s identity to bring the time, individual attention, and support to students that allow them to develop literacy skills and confidence within a strong academic program. With thanks to an anonymous family, Shore was able to invest in additional resources to support the needs of today's learners, ensuring students receive appropriate targeted support. This gift directly impacts the academic and social-emotional success of our students.

NEW SCOREBOARDS FOR THE MAIN FIELDS
A gift of two scoreboards for Shore’s main fields has been a game changer! Not only does this gift enhance Shore’s campus, it also reflects the high quality of Shore’s athletics program and celebrates Shore’s incredible student athletes.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Gifts to The Sarah M. Devens ’89 Memorial Fund made a lasting impact on the mental health and resilience of students and adults in the Shore community, supporting life skills for students and adults, and professional development and training for faculty.

DOZENS OF FIELD TRIPS
Due to the generosity of our donor community, Shore can say, 'yes!' when a teacher wants to extend learning beyond the classroom. In 2024-2025, we provided transportation, tickets, entrance fees, overnight costs, and financial assistance so all our students could enjoy the benefits of these opportunities. Shore students visited dozens of destinations, ranging from museums to theaters, to orchards to a composting center, to local nonprofits to a Shore family-owned bread production factory…and so much more!

THE SHORE BOOK FAIR
In April 2025, Shore partnered with our local independent bookstore, Copper Dog Books, to host a Book Fair. As a special recognition to celebrate the return of this beloved tradition, Shore’s English department covered the cost of one paperback book for each student at Shore. We are grateful to the Eileen Shea Spingler Enrichment Fund for making this gift possible.

WOODLAND CLASSROOM, MARIMBAS, ATHLETICS
The funds given on Giving Day by families, alumni, grandparents, employees, and friends had a tremendous impact on our students.

Shore was able to create a new Woodland Classroom by the Lower Fields which expands the opportunities for students at every grade level to gather, learn, and play outdoors. Check out the video How the Good Grows: Outdoors and Beyond Shore.

Shore was able to purchase new marimbas, strengthening a signature element of Shore’s Lower and Upper School music programs, and enhance our playing fields and other aspects of the student athletic experience. Check out the video How the Good Grows: On Stage and Field.
