100th Day of School at Shore

Every year at Shore, celebrating the 100th Day of School is a fun tradition as we reach a major milestone in the school year. Typically coming shortly before Spring Break, recognizing the 100th day serves as a testament to the teaching, learning, and hard work that's gone on this school year, while also motivating Shore students to finish the year strong. Typically, festivities involve unique lesson plans and activities across campus, with many classrooms making crafts, playing fun math games, or getting creative with numbers.

While the celebration extends across campus, the day holds a special meaning for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and early elementary students, who find joy in the actualization of the concept of such a large number. Pre-K students designed crowns, made artwork and jewelry, and shared what their wishes would be if they could have 100 of something. Kindergarten students made sunglasses, stacked 100 cups, and made a huge construction paper garland out of 100 cutouts! In Grade 1, it was all about beads, and creating beautiful patterned necklaces by making patterns on their number sheets and then testing them out, and students were loving the creative aspect — Cal M. alternated using different shades of red, while Kora S. created a bright rainbow necklace using shiny beads, and even Mrs. Mercier made a necklace to go with her "100th Day of School" shirt.

The 100th day isn’t just a number, it’s another reason to celebrate, laugh, and make memories together.
