Shore's New Employees 2012-2013

New Lower School Faculty

Mullery Doar assumes one of the lead roles in grade five.  A 2010 graduate of Middlebury College, Mullery has spent the last two years teaching sixth grade English, social studies, and math at New Canaan Country School in Connecticut.  In her short tenure there, Mullery quickly built a reputation for being a superbly talented teacher and we are thrilled to have Mullery joining our faculty.  In addition to her work in the classroom, Mullery looks forward to coaching at Shore.  Having been the captain of her college field hockey team and a middle school field hockey coach, Mullery will no doubt be a great addition to our coaching team. 
 
Anne Babcock joins us as a lead fourth grade teacher as we expand our fourth grade this year to include an additional class. After majoring in English and minoring in education at Hobart and William Smith College, Anne is currently pursuing a Masters of Education degree in reading and literacy.  Before taking time off to spend with her young daughters, Anne worked for three years as a lead fifth grade teacher at the Learning Project Elementary School in Boston. Anne comes to Shore with a wealth of experience and stellar recommendations from her former colleagues.  We are delighted to welcome Anne to Shore.
 
Jenny Lienhard quickly earned our admiration and respect as a music substitute last year and we are thrilled to have her join us as a full time faculty member as she assumes the role of Lower School music teacher.  A graduate of New England Conservatory (BM Vocal Performance) and the Boston Conservatory (MM Music Education), Jenny joins us with a wealth of new ideas and tremendous enthusiasm for our new Center for Creativity and the possibilities this new facility will open up for our students.  Among other things, Jenny is a talented vocalist who loves helping children find their singing voices and exploring world music.
 
Debora Collison joins Elyse Seltzer in the library as a library assistant. With twelve years of elementary teaching experience in England and the United States, and experience creating library curricula, Debora is thrilled to be joining us to teach Lower School library classes and to assist Elyse with various aspects of running the library.  Debora has a passion for literature and for working with children and we are excited to have her join our faculty.
 
James (Jim) Hubbard joins us as a teaching assistant in Grade 3 with Mary Kinahan and Sam Hamlin.  Jim graduated this past May from Colby College with a major in history.  Throughout his years at college Jim was involved in a variety of volunteer activities involving children. With experience working as a teacher's aid, mentor, tutor, camp counselor, and coach, Jim will be a wonderful addition to our Lower School faculty. Jim looks forward to bringing his many interests and talents to Shore.
 
Margaret O’Neill joins us as a teaching assistant in Readiness with Beth White.  After graduating from Elon University in 2011 with a major in English, Margaret worked as a substitute teacher in the Hamilton-Wenham and Manchester-Essex school systems.  Margaret is known by her colleagues as kind, warm, and very engaging with young children.  Margaret has a passion for education and is thrilled to be working with our youngest students at Shore for the coming school year.
 
 
New Upper School Faculty

An experienced teacher, musician, choral leader, coach, and outdoorswoman, Jennifer Boyum joins Shore as the Upper School music teacher, a choral director and leader of Acafellas and Puellae Cantantes, and an advisor to sixth grade girls.  Jennifer taught most recently at Parkway West High School in St. Louis and La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego.  She has an undergraduate degree in music from the University of Arizona, where she was a member of the marching band, the University Singers, and the Symphonic Chorus, and a Master’s of Music from Northwestern University.  Jennifer and her family are relocating to the North Shore from St. Louis and are excited to explore New England and take advantage of all the outdoor opportunities afforded here.  She is already looking forward to the trip to Chewonki with the sixth grade.
 
Mallie Loring joins the Upper School as the studio art assistant for Grades Five through Nine and the Co-Coordinator of the ninth grade with Bruce Wright.  Mallie is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts.  She has also pursued additional study at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington, the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center in Hawaii, and the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina.  Prior to RISD, Mallie attended Middlesex School and Derby Academy.  A talented artist, Mallie has shown her own work at the Stair Gallery in Arcata, California, The Market Restaurant in Annisquam, and the Gelman Gallery at the RISD Museum in Providence among others.  Before coming to Shore, Mallie worked for CamillaJames Jewelry as a design assistant and a landscape architecture firm, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, as an office and studio assistant.  In addition to her passion for the arts, Mallie is also an avid outdoorswoman.  She has completed a course through the National Outdoor Leadership School, taught sailing, and is an avid skier, hiker, road biker, and runner.
 
A native of California, Erica Puccetti comes to Shore after a year as a teaching fellow at Polytechnic School in Pasadena.  At Polytechnic, Erica taught sixth grade English and advised sixth grade girls as well as lead backpacking and canoe trips.  Erica is an alumna of The Thatcher School, a boarding school in Ojai, California, where she was recognized for scholarship, integrity, and sportsmanship, and she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in English Literature.  At USC, Erica played club lacrosse and spent two summers teaching and working as a class dean for middle school students with the Summerbridge program in San Francisco.  We are excited to welcome Erica to Shore and to have her teaching sixth grade language arts and reading, advising a group of sixth grade girls, and coaching basketball and lacrosse.
 
Shore Staff/Admin

We are thrilled to welcome Kate Harris Lucey, '01 as our new Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations.  Most recently, Kate was a Senior Associate of Marketing and Communications at Tremont Realty Capital, a small boutique investment banking firm in Boston.  Highly recommended for her professionalism and work ethic, Kate's biggest praise comes for her ability to develop relationships.  An alumna of Shore, Kate went on to graduate from St. George's School in 2004 and Williams College in 2008.  Kate grew up in Manchester and celebrated her wedding this past July.  We look forward to Kate's passion and dedication to Shore as she joins the Advancement Office.  
 
Terry Hennessey joined the Building and Grounds department over the summer.  Terry is a Beverly native and graduate of Beverly High School.  He also served in the United States Air Force as an electrician and has over 20 years experience working as a landscape foreman. He is known to be an all around handyman and brings a wealth of experience to the Shore community.
