Pop Rock Concert and Upper School Art Show

Shore's Spring Pop Rock Concert and Upper School Art Show was a fantastic success! Shore Arts faculty's engaging classes, mentorship expertise, and expert command of the material create a space where student creativity can flourish, and there is no better testament to their work than seeing their students perform on stage and showcase their artwork around campus. Shore's Upper School students are a dynamic group, with many sharing their talents at the Pop Rock Concert, from passionate vocals to exciting and fast-paced percussion to beautiful and heartfelt songs on the string instruments. It was a fantastic collaboration of talent and energy for the audience in the Trustey Family Theatre.

Performances began with the Chamber Ensemble, who set the tone for the evening with familiar music from popular movies and games. Next, Grade 6 students Ari B., Viv M., Ella G., and Lilly C. performed classic heartfelt songs about growing up and the beauty of youth (Flowers, More Than A Feeling, Riptide). After that, Shao-An C. and Nate T. sang Somewhere Only We Know with confidence, Delilah L., Clara A., and Eloise L. sang beautiful and passionate pieces, and students played the marimbas. Alden W.'s star shined bright when he sang American Girl with poise, and subsequent breathtaking performances from talented Grade 8 students Audrina G.(Linger), A.J. K.(You'll Be Alright Kid), and Lilith B.(Fight Song). We will miss all of these wonderful voices so much when they graduate! Finally, Nik B.'s Hooked On A Feeling, Walker B.'s Top of the World, Stacia M.'s A Million Dreams, and Will M.'s phenomenal and energetic rendition of Shut Up and Dance finished off the individual performances on a perfect note, setting the stage for the final A Cappella performances. It was a spectacular evening of music, and afterwards, families gathered across campus to observe some of our Upper School students' fantastic artwork, from pottery to woodworking to stained glass, and a myriad of other projects.

As with every performance at Shore, the tireless work that goes into putting something special like this together deserves to be recognized. Thank you to all of our student performers, to Upper School Music Teacher Jennifer Boyum, Arts Department Chair Betsey Holland, Upper School Art Teacher Taylor Doiron, Innovation Specialist Cam McNall, and to our Shore community for all of your hard work in making this possible!
