A Perfect Winter Day: Winter Concert 2025

No matter how you celebrate, music is a quintessential part of the holiday season, and listening together is part of holiday tradition for many families. Shore's joyful Winter Concert in the Trustey Family Theatre served as a perfect segue into Winter Break, showcasing a wide variety of styles of music from Shore's talented student, faculty, and staff performers.

First, after Head of School Amber Bock's welcome, Shore's Chamber Ensemble treated the audience to a lovely rendition of Snowy Mountain Holiday, an intricate piece which proved exciting and challenging for our talented Chamber Ensemble performers. Next, Grades 5 and 6 students performed the chimes, Pre-K - Grade 1 students performed the wonderfully energetic If I Could Fly Like A Snowflake, and Grade 8 students treated us to the breathtakingly deep sounds of Shore's marimbas. Kindergarten's folk dance, Heel and Toe, provided another exciting experience  for the audience and set the tone for complex and beautiful performances from our Upper School students and Shore A Cappella. A highlight was Grade 6 student Rachel C.'s reading of the poem Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening, accompanied by sound effects and the Grades 5 and 6 Chorus. Finally, the closing performance of Crowded Table by Grades 5 - 8 ended the concert on a positive and inclusive note, a perfect way to send our community into the holiday season. Thank you to our talented Music Teachers Jennifer Boyum and Lauren Notas for all of their hard work and dedication in putting this together for our community!
