Young Alumni Panel 2025

Shore’s annual Young Alumni Panel was an informative and valuable experience for Upper School students. We welcomed six alums — Drew Mullaney '23, Ruby Poulo '24, Anna Pervier '24, Brooks Marshall '24, Sofia Alves '25, and Khoi Do '25 — attending a variety of high schools across New England back to Shore for a panel discussion. The event was designed for Upper School students as they look ahead at the different options available for secondary school. The discussion covered a wide variety of topics, from important academic strategies to unique pieces of each secondary school experience such as sports and the arts, to life advice and guidance from confident role models who our students can easily relate to. Many students took the time to ask questions or even stayed afterwards to make connections with the panelists.

Each panelist brought their own unique approach to the discussion, and the variety in topics in their responses led to a multi-faceted learning experience for Shore students. Sofia A. '25 made her former teachers proud by speaking extensively about the skills she learned from using Shore’s ASN. “Specifically for time management, I remember organizing everything, color coding it, and planning out those weeks, and as you move on, not every school gives you an ASN, so make sure you find your own system.” Meanwhile, Brooks M. '24, a junior at the Williston Northampton School, spoke about the excitement and the challenges of attending a boarding school a couple of hours away from home. Brooks touched on numerous different aspects of the boarding school experience, such as living, dining, sports, and the social aspect. The panelists were well poised and took the time to answer questions in depth, and the generous gift of their time clearly made an impact on our Upper School students as they look forward to their future in secondary school.
