Shore Safari Weekend: Community, Connection, and Campfire Magic

This year’s annual Shore Safari Weekend was a shining example of the magic that happens when our community joins together for a weekend away. Thanks to the incredible dedication of our Shore Families Association (SFA) this beloved tradition continues to grow year after year. It was a weekend filled with community, laughter, and lasting memories. And the timing couldn’t have been better — just as the school year began, Shore Safari Weekend offered the perfect opportunity to reconnect after the summer, welcome new families, and celebrate all that makes our community so special.

Held at Camp Wa-Klo, nestled in the scenic Mount Monadnock region of New Hampshire, the weekend was filled with friendship and fun. Families enjoyed swimming, hiking, ziplining, canoeing, gathering by the fire, and sharing meals. Everywhere you looked, there were smiles, laughter, and the unmistakable warmth of Shore’s community spirit.

We were thrilled to see so many of our newest families join the fun! The atmosphere was joyful as new faces blended seamlessly with longtime Shore community members. True to Shore’s welcoming spirit, everyone pitched in to make sure newcomers felt right at home from the very first campfire.

“Watching the forging of more bonded friendships among the children is lovely, and our amazing new families are here in big numbers and doing great,” said Amber Bock, attending her second Shore Safari Weekend as Shore’s Head of School in as many years. Bock highlights this as one of her favorite community-building experiences, and plans to continue attending annually. She also took the opportunity to thank the SFA for all of their hard work, extending “A giant thank you to our SFA for all of the planning and preparation”.

We can’t wait to do it all again — join us next year for the 47th annual Shore Safari Weekend!
