Spanish at Shore!

They were the voices for the electronic version of the Spanish at Shore Storybook Collection, which includes ten children's books for Spanish learners.

Iván B. in Grade Five is the voice for Rico, el monstruo (Rico, the Monster). Alba C. in Grade Seven is the voice of three books: Amigos (Friends), Daniela vuela al mundo de las emociones (Daniela Travels to the World of Emotions), and Ricitos de oro (Goldilocks). Claudia C. in Grade Four is the storyteller of Ramón ratón (Ramón the Mouse). Will P. in Grade Four is the speaker of Capullo (Cocoon). Halia T. in Grade Three tells A de ... (A is for ...). Jordi T. in Grade Two tells Rita la rana (Rita the Frog). Cami T. in Grade Four is the storyteller of Los tres cerditos (The Three Little Pigs). Claudia and Cami share the storytelling in El mono hambriento (The Hungry Monkey).

The children worked on these stories as a special project during their Spanish class time. Some illustrations were created by former Shore students, Ali Wilder and William Li. Others were created by Shore teacher Gwen Sneeden, Madeleine Sneeden, and artist Heather Kiefer. Shore Spanish teachers Doug Lucey, Pamela Torres, and Gwen Sneeden wrote the stories.

All are available on iTunes as free iBook downloads. See them on iTunesU.

Spanish Songs at Shore

In addition to the iBooks, members of the Shore community also created a collection of Spanish songs suitable for early learners. Performers included Gretchen Bowder and daughter and alumna Georgia Bowder-Newton.

All are available in iTunes as free music downloads. See them on iTunesU.
