Arts

The mission of the Arts Department is to give children opportunities to explore, create, and experience a variety of artistic disciplines. Students engage in self-expression, collaboration, and performance-based work in an endeavor to cultivate creative risk-taking, community building, and self-actualization.

The aims of the Upper School arts program are to advance the visual and graphic art skills begun in the Lower School through projects in different mediums and techniques, nurture the use of creative process as a method to brainstorm and generate ideas, explore art through historic periods from around the globe while respectfully considering cultural differences and connections, and gain confidence in an authentic expression of self through visual art.
