  • Lower School Math Specialist

    Shore is seeking a part- or full-time Lower School Math Specialist to start late August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching mathematics to students in grades Pre-K through Five in a variety of settings, including one-on-one, small group, and whole class instruction to meet the needs of a wide range of mathematical abilities; providing resources to Lower School teachers to support and/or enhance the scope & sequence at each grade level; and assessing students, when appropriate, to provide a diagnostic summary of individual strengths and weaknesses relative to math knowledge and understanding.

    Candidates should have a deep and broad understanding of mathematical content and should be prepared to support Lower School teachers in the implementation of mathematics. An understanding of a Singapore Math-based approach is important; experience with Math in Focus, in particular, is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in Education and/or Mathematics is required, and a Master’s is preferred. Minimum of 3 years lead teaching experience.   • Elementary Physical Education Teacher and Middle School Coach

    Seeking full-time Elementary Physical Education Teacher and Middle School Coach to start late August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching a developmentally appropriate and sequential physical education program for students in Pre-K through grade 5, and teaching Project Adventure to Upper School students in grades seven and eight. In addition, this role includes two or three seasons of middle school coaching at the intramural or interscholastic level. Physical Education teaching experience required, Physical Education Degree highly preferred. Project Adventure training/rock climbing experience a plus. Shore boasts first class facilities including a 30 ft. indoor climbing wall, outdoor field space, and two full size gymnasiums.
