‘Winter is Here’ at Shore’s Annual Winter Concert 2023
On Thursday, December 14, the Upper School and Lower School Music Departments presented ‘Winter is Here’ as their annual winter concert. The joy of music abounded in Shore's youngest students singing for a crowd in what may have been some of their first times, to the oldest students who have performed in many a Shore winter concert.
The journey the students take and how they evolve as musicians throughout their time at Shore was striking in the combined concert, which was pointed out by Interim Head of School Amy Vorenberg in her opening remarks of the second performance.
From Lower School students singing, using percussion instruments, and recorders, to Upper School students playing in the chamber, chime, and marimba ensembles, to singing in the concert choir and in A Cappella, families, loved ones, and audience members could see where older students have come from and where the younger ones will go.
