  • A Picture Paints a Thousand Words

    Paint, paint, and more paint! Students will be able to express themselves in paint on a variety of surfaces including canvas, wood, paper, and more!

  • Around the World in 80 Days

    Campers will enjoy a unique week-long cultural experience. Each day we will focus on countries from a specific continent with exploration through cuisine, music, art, and language.
    A world exploration camp is a great way to teach geography skills and expose children to other cultures. Most importantly, we will nurture a love for exploration and a sense of respect and empathy for other ways of life. Through simple crafts and fun activities we will spark curiosity about other cultures and set the foundation for further exploration.

  • Camping at Shore

    Imagine a camp within a camp! We’ll build a tent together, tell stories around a "fire," write letters home, read adventure stories, make binoculars, sing camp songs, and play camp games. The possibilities for fun are endless!

  • Ceramics

    Whether a beginner or an advanced wheel student, there is something for all to enjoy and learn. Come spend a week having some fun and playing in the mud!
    Children will investigate the various aspects of ceramics and vessel making using both the potter’s wheel and hand-built techniques. Each child will have the opportunity to explore different decorative techniques and themes such as creating face mugs, making personalized stamps, and learning how to make handles, lids, and other decorative additions both on and off the potter’s wheel. Designs and techniques from the past will be incorporated into the class to inspire each camper’s own works.

  • Crafty Hands in Nature

    Bring out the nature-loving artist in your child this summer! Spend an active week on Shore’s 17-acre campus with pre-kindergarten teacher, Beth White, exploring art, plants, and nature! 
    Campers will gather supplies for nature inspired crafts as they explore the world around them. Twigs, leaves, rocks, wood, acorns and many more natural materials and recycled materials are readily available to create prints, drawings, sculptures, and much more. The outside world comes alive as we celebrate nature through art!

  • Digital Photography

    Do you love taking photos? Want to learn how to capture GREAT images? Did you know photography is both art and science?
    As an art, photography is a marvelous tool of creative, self-expression. As a science, it is a wonderful technical tool, teaching lessons in light, math, and computer skills. It encourages closer looks and whole new ways of looking at things.

    During this photography class you will be learning how to use or better use your digital camera and experiment using a digital SLR camera, different photographic techniques, and create a portfolio of images.

  • Dollhouses and Hideaways

    Create a one-of-a-kind, magical dollhouse or hideaway. We will start with blueprints, then paint our structure, add wallpaper, works of art, furniture, dolls, food, and anything else we can think of! The opportunities are endless.

  • Enchanted Kingdom

    Come to the Enchanted Kingdom of Shore Camp. We will be exploring the wonderful world of Enchanted Dragons, Princesses, Knights, and Castles through books, games and projects. The camp is open to kids who will be entering grades Pre-K (must be 4 years-old by the start of camp) through Grade One.

  • Gardening

    This camp allows children to explore nature and science through gardening. They will be able to develop new skills, gain confidence, and show pride in their work. 
    We will work in Shore’s new Outdoor Classroom space, and maintain the vegetation that will be currently growing. Dig in, get dirty, and get ready to grow some plants!

  • Jewelry Making

    Necklaces, bracelets, rings, and more...jewelry is the best accessory! Campers will be able to design and create a variety of jewelry pieces that they will be excited to wear or give as gifts! From beading to learning to cut with wire cutters using unique intricate beads and African beads, campers will be amazed with what this camp has to offer.

  • Learning Through Nature

    Campers will be reading, writing, and using math skills while exploring the world around us. The class will use the outdoor space to enhance campers’ reading and writing skills, and will also explore and solve math problems that are presented in nature.

  • Lunch Bunch

    Calling all young chefs! Shore’s Head Chef Scott Flanagan will provide hands-on instructions in creating menus, food handling, and food safety. He will teach young chefs how to make fun and healthy lunches from salads to sandwiches and more!
    Campers will use everyday foods found in the home and have the children use their imaginations in creating a special lunch for the final day. This enrichment camp is an exciting way to have your child learn some food skills as well as learn how to create fun and nutritious lunches. Bon appetit!

  • Magical Book Making

    Stories are told in many ways, such as through song, art, poetry, books, and music. Throughout the week, students will explore a variety of stories and will work together with their peers and teacher to develop and share their own stories. The students will create their very own magical story books through pictures and designs.

  • Marimba

    The marimba music of Zimbabwe is energetic and upbeat, and perfect for students who have the energy to keep a groove going song after song! Shore is pleased to provide the marimba experience during the summer break. 
    Children entering Grades 3-5 are invited to spend one week exploring this music in Shore's Marimba Band. This one-week opportunity to have a blast making music with others will end with a concert!

  • Movement Mayhem

    Learn about mechanical advantage as you turn Shore's Innovation Lab into a giant maze of ropes, gears, wheels, and pulleys! In this class, kids will use many of the Ilab tools while they explore how to lift, pull, push, throw, and launch all sorts of things with machines of their own making.

  • Musical Theater

    Do you love to act, dance, and sing show tunes? Join Ms. Asacker this summer to work on your performance skills and stage presence. We will work as a group to learn a song and dance number in our first Musical Theatre Summer Camp for Lower School!

  • Nail and String Art

    Make your own design in a hands-on activity! Using small nails and wooden boards, campers will create a beautiful string design, pattern, animal, letter and more!

  • Nature's Journal

    Have you ever followed an ant to see where it is traveling to, and drawn a map of what you discover? Have you ever laid in the grass and gazed at the clouds, deciding if they look more like cotton candy or marshmallows? 
    In Nature’s Journaling class, we will spend our time exploring the natural world on micro and macro levels. Magnifying glasses, journals, and an open mind is all we will need in this camp. We will spend our time in Mother Nature’s warm embrace, drawing, writing, discussing, and discovering, unearthing each child’s passion of the great outdoors!

  • North Shore Adventures

    Join us this summer as we embark on local adventures around the North Shore's great outdoors! Each day, campers will hop aboard Shore’s activity van and embark on a new exploration of our local beaches, rocky coasts, wetlands, and forests.
    With weather permitting, activities may include paddleboarding, beach combing, tidepooling, hiking, fishing, ponding, and more! Your child should be comfortable in and near water.

  • S.T.E.A.M - ACTION

    Construct it! Build it! Design it! In this enrichment course, children will use everyday toys and recycled materials to design and build different contraptions and systems that they engineered.
    Students should be prepared to get into some serious collaboration using Popsicle sticks, shoeboxes, blocks, plastic cups, Matchbox Tracks, Legos, and Lincoln Logs. Children will test their devices and build against forces relating to mechanics, physics, and aerodynamics!

  • S.T.E.M. at Shore

    Want to build the tallest tree or a house full of cards? How about a snowball effect or even sledding down a ramp? Explore the world of education incorporating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. 
    These units are all around us in our everyday lives. Students will be encouraged to brainstorm and participate in hands-on experiments and building activities designed around teamwork, collaboration, and efficiency.

  • Silly, Messy, Super Science

    Roll up your sleeves and put on your thinking cap. We'll get messy conducting all sorts of science experiments. Learn to make slime, play with shaving cream, make giant bubbles, and do lots of other things you aren't allowed to do at home. Let's get messy!

  • Superheroes in Training

    It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s a superhero! Superheroes are everywhere and can inspire kids to do kind and noble things for our world.
    Throughout the week, Ms. Fitzpatrick will expose our superheroes to arts and crafts, literacy, etiquette, and physical activity. No superhero is complete without discovering hidden superpowers, choosing a superhero name, designing a personalized cape, testing mighty muscles, and undergoing rescue missions. Your budding superhero will learn all the ins and outs of becoming a force for good in the world!

  • Ukulele Camp

    Have you ever wanted to learn the ukulele? Now is your chance to work on basic chords, finger picking, and simple songs on the ukulele.
    Children will be met at their level, whether they've played for a while or want to try a new instrument. The group will explore classic folk songs, and have the opportunity to compose their own pieces. Ukuleles and picks will be provided.

  • Under the Sea

    Let’s explore the ocean! Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a shark, turtle, sea star, or whale? This camp brings to life some of the biggest and smallest animals in the sea.
    Each day we will sing a song to introduce a new theme for the day’s activities with highlights that include daily crafts, sand castle building, and a hunt for treasure. We will also engage in activities like Musical Icebergs and Ocean Bingo. We’ll even learn a thing or two about buoyancy! We will stay busy, keep active, and have fun as campers enjoy ocean-themed activities and exploration.
