Spring Benefit Bolsters Learning with $100,000 for Harkness Tables

Benefit Co-Chairs Alison McMaster Preacher and Erin van Otterloo organized a stunning Kentucky Derby party May 2nd in the historic mansion at Turner Hill, complete with champagne on arrival, live racehorse and jockey, and guests in striking Derby outfits and hats!

As well as tremendous Parents Association funds for the school from the live and online auctions, this event raised an additional unprecedented $100,000 in the "Frenzy" to provide Harkness tables for Shore. This record-breaking level of donations will further the school’s unique practice discussion-based learning for students as young as Grade Four. If you couldn’t make it to the Benefit, you can still donate towards this important addition to the school until May 15th by clicking here. Contributions at any level are greatly appreciated.

The money raised in support of the expansion of Shore's discussion-based teaching and learning model is in addition to contributions during the online and live auctions totaling close to $100,000. Auction items donated by parents and the school included Head for a Day, all-school artwork such as "Circle of Friends," a getaway in Tuscany, a Tim Hopkins cocktail party, a intimate wine cellar dinner, and many more.
