Shore Announces the Next President of the Board of Trustees

A Letter From The Board of Trustees

Dear Shore Families,

 

It is with great pleasure that we write today to announce that Amanda Jackson has been elected to serve as Shore’s next President of the Board of Trustees.

 

A search committee made up of current trustees, led by the Chair of the Committee on Trustees, Franklin Foster, undertook an interview process of prospective candidates, selected a final candidate, and recently presented its recommendation to the full Board of Trustees. Amanda was selected by a unanimous vote and has been approved as the next President of Shore’s Board of Trustees.

 

Amanda brings a tremendous depth of experience to the role of President. She joined the Board in 2021, is the Chair of the Strategic Initiatives Committee and a member of the Equity & Inclusion Committee, as well as a member of the Executive Committee. Most recently, she has served as the Chair of the Search Committee for the Interim Head of School. Amanda is a Managing Director at SRS Acquiom where she leads Business Development for the Eastern Region. She has previous independent school board experience, having served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Pingree School in South Hamilton, MA, and is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar. Amanda and her husband, Ned, are the parents of two current Shore students, Nate ’24 and Cole ’29. They live in Wenham, MA. When she isn’t at work or engaged on behalf of Shore, Amanda enjoys skiing, hiking, and cheering on her kids during their athletic events.

 

With her experience as Chair of the Search Committee for Shore’s Interim Head of School, Amanda is uniquely positioned to facilitate a seamless transition for our interim and the next long-term Head of School. We are confident that she will develop a strong, productive partnership with them and that they will work in close collaboration as the Board identifies its next slate of strategic goals in support of Shore’s mission. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Amanda to her new role at Shore and thanking her in advance for the expertise, time, and energy we know she will bring to our community in this new role.

 

Finally, we would like to thank departing President, Amy Marks, for her service on the Board of Trustees. Amy has made the decision to conclude her service to Shore’s Board to focus on her family as they relocate to Boston for the 2023-2024 school year. We are appreciative of her dedication and many contributions to Shore during her tenure. With this transition of leadership, Amanda’s appointment as President of the Board is effective immediately.

 

As we embark on Shore’s next chapter, we are exceptionally optimistic. We are in a strong financial position and continue our mission to deliver a stellar academic program bolstered by an outstanding faculty and administration. Shore’s future is very bright. We look forward to sharing it with all of you as we continue to work in support of our incredible students and the community of employees, parents, and caregivers who are so dedicated to them.
