Remote United in Service Event a Success

During the spring United in Service event, Shore families joined together remotely to assemble breakfast kits, make blankets and decorate cards for those in need. According to United in Service co-organizer Patti Murphy, "Shore families didn't let the COVID-19 pandemic stop them from working together to help the community. Despite the health crisis, this year's service project was a success."

Students decorated dozens of cards thanking the staff and cheering up patients at Beverly Hospital.  Others assembled breakfast kits for 100 families served by Nazarene Church and Acord Food Pantry. Shore families also made no-sew blankets for the Boxford Community Giving Tree.

"Shore families have always been generous with their time and resources as part of United in Service," said Patti Murphy, "but this year's event comes at a time when when the financial burden of feeding a family has hit many especially hard. A special thank you goes to those families who put their own challenges aside to help those in the community who are struggling."
