Students Named Finalists in Poetry Contest

Six Shore authors were among the 21 finalists named on April 4, 2019, in the Beverly Public Library's 23rd Annual Teen Poetry Contest. More than 500 submissions were received in this year's contest, which is open to middle school students who live or attend school in Beverly. Finalists, who were selected by published local poets, receive cash prizes when winners are announced at the Poetry Reading and Awards Ceremony on April 24, held at 7:00 p.m. in the Beverly Public Library's Sohier Room. The finalists' poems are published in a booklet that is distributed at the ceremony, as well as kept in the library’s permanent collection.

The Shore students named as finalists were Alle Benchoff, Raphael Clark, Rowan Jones, Kipley Kagan, Maya Tavares, and Zori Warren.
