Track and Field Team Wins State Championships

On Saturday, June 2, 22 Upper School students competed with tremendous success in the annual Massachusetts Middle School Track & Field State Championships in Clinton. Individuals and teams claimed state titles in several events, and Shore Boys Track became the overall state champions in the small school division, competing against 55 other public and private schools.

Under the guidance of coaches Sarah Sklarsky, Keisha Myrie, James Hubbard, and Laura Thomson, the young Track & Field team came away with an impressive set of results:

  • Overall State Champions - Shore Boys Team: Ricky Bansal, Arihaan Barua, Sean Blundin, Patrick Carroll, Raphael Clark, Aidan Davie, Ethan Driscoll, Arthur Flammia, Jack McVeigh, Charlie Minney, Alex Schimmel, and Cam White
  • 400M State Champion - Alex Schimmel
  • Long Jump State Champion - Aidan Davie 
  • 4x100M Relay State Champions (Shore record) - Patrick Carroll, Aidan Davie, Charlie Minney, and Alex Schimmel 
  • High Jump State Champion - Sylvie Archer 
  • 200M Third Place - Patrick Carroll
  • Turbo Javelin Third Place - Arthur Flammia  
  • 4x100M Relay Eighth Place (Shore record) - Camryn Flessel, Zarenna Sawyer, Phoebe Thorne, and Kennedy Wilson
Also part of the championship effort and competing with great personal accomplishments were Sophia DiNanno, Ava Finn, Jane Kelley, Anja Meaney, and Ella Williams.
