Shore Celebrates Record Annual Fund Participation

On May 30, Boston magician Robert Clarke paid a surprise visit to Shore's Dining Hall to entertain students of all ages, faculty, staff, and parents. His interactive magic show was in celebration of The Shore Fund's banner year, which to date has seen record-breaking success including 89% parent participation and 100% faculty and staff participation for the 22nd year in a row.

Said Brooke Booth, Shore's Director of Annual Giving, "This year's incredible participation rates are a strong vote of confidence in our school and its programs. Our students and faculty are the ultimate beneficiaries of this incredible support."

During the lunch-hour magic celebration, Robert Clarke treated Pre-K through Grade 9 students to close-up card tricks, juggling, and much more. His energetic, interactive style of performance captured the imaginations of students and faculty alike—even wowing Head of School Larry Griffin as a crowd of onlookers cheered.

The Shore Fund is the cornerstone of the school's fundraising programs. The Fund helps make up the gap between tuition income and the higher actual cost of a Shore education.  As with all independent schools, Shore relies on annual support to help fund the people, projects, and programs that make Shore the extraordinary school it is today.

Robin Ellis, P '21, The Shore Fund Co-Chair and Trustee, explains, “Community support of The Shore Fund each year provides the margin of excellence and quality of programming and facilities that are paramount to a Shore education.”
