I live in Manchester, MA and I work in real estate development.
Why do you choose to support Shore and The Shore Fund each year?
Shore was a large part of my life, and prepared me to take the next steps. I enjoyed the places it allowed me to go, so it’s my way of acknowledging where I started and the teachers who were part of that process.
What inspired you to make your first gift as a Shore graduate?
A former Shore teacher, and now a close friend of mine, reached out to me as part of a fundraising challenge. I didn’t hesitate; it made sense to me.
What schools did you attend after Shore? How did Shore prepare you for future learning and your career?
After Shore, I graduated from St. John’s Prep and Cornell University. Shore developed my confidence in building relationships with my peers, teachers and mentors in both academic and career environments. I have never been hesitant about approaching others whether for help or curiosity, and what I found at Shore, and most places I have gone since, is that people want to share with you, and they want to see you do well – you just have to be willing to ask and build those relationships.
Do you have a favorite memory as a Shore student?
I loved traveling with my classmates. All of the overnight trips were memorable, but Mountain School has really stayed with me. One of our assignments that week was to trek into the woods for a solo and spend time reflecting and writing about our time at Shore; I still remember what I wrote, and I feel the same way – Shore was a large part of my life in a great way.
