Grades 5-8 Class Visiting & Assessment

Shore’s goal in screening applicants for any grade level is a happy and successful placement in our educational community. With this goal in mind, we invite Grade 5-8 candidates for a full day of class visiting to round out our personal understanding of each child. Candidates visit in classrooms at the same grade level that they are currently in so that they are with their peers.

Candidates to Grades 5-8 are also required to take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), which is offered at various schools on the North Shore, including Shore. Please go directly to the ISEE Website to sign up for the test, and then e-mail Ali Jahn at AJAHN@SHORESCHOOL.ORG with your test date. To ensure that Shore receives your child’s scores, you will need to enter Shore’s school code when registering; this code is 222638. Please note that the deadline to register is three weeks prior to the testing date.

Shore offers the ISEE on January 28, 2017, but it can be taken anywhere it is offered. The fee for the ISEE is paid directly to ISEE at the time of registration.

Registering for Class Visiting
An Admissions application must be submitted prior to registering for a visit day. Visitors should arrive at the Admissions Office to meet their Shore student host for the day prior to 8:00 a.m. Visiting extends from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is no fee for the visit day.
