Pre-K Investigates Beaver Life

Students in Pre-K 2 investigated beaver dams and dens in the Manchester Essex Wilderness Conservation Area, then built their own dams in Shore's wetland classroom area. S.A.I.L. teacher Betsey Holland guided the children as they explored the conservation area, discovering beaver-felled trees, trails, and numerous species of birds, plants, trees, and insects. At, Shore, they worked with Innovation Lab manager Cam McNall on constructing miniature dams of mud, sticks, and rocks in the stream flowing through Shore's wetland.
