Ecuadorian visits Shore
2/8/2010
Ecuador may be far away, but Shore brings a piece of this beautiful country to its students every year. This year, María José Dueñas, from the traditional city of Cuenca, spent two weeks with Shore students in Readiness-Grade 9.
Besides learning about Ecuador, students were treated to music, dance, stories, and games students learned to sing "Los pollitos" accompanied by fun gestures; kindergartners listened to children's stories, Grade 4 and 5 students learned a popular dance, and Upper School students learned about the Day of the Dead as it is celebrated in Ecuador, played children’s games, danced to El General's Meneaito, got help with their pronunciation for class skits, and had the opportunity to speak with María José during the day.
She even helped out in the afternoons on the IM soccer fields. María José is hoping Shore students will visit her country soon!
