Track & Field Breaks Records at Fenn

April 21 was a banner day for Shore's Track & Field Team, now in its third year of existence. In a meet against Fenn School in Concord, returning team members broke 22 personal records, with 11 individuals plus boys and girls relay teams posting qualifying times/distances/heights for the state championship meet.

Said Head Coach Sarah Sklarsky, "One of the biggest highlights was ending the meet with a new school record in the boys 4x100M relay. The team was made up of 6th grader Patrick Carroll, 8th grader Guy Collison, 7th grader John Fates, and 8th grader Ethan Ambrosh, who anchored the team with an exciting win in a neck and neck finish."

Their time of 53.9 was a two-second improvement over the previous school record, which was set by a speedy group of mostly 9th graders two years ago, at least two of whom have gone on to successful high school track careers.

A number of other school records were broken at this meet, as well. Harrison Wilson and Alba Clarke both bested their own previous school records in the 800M, recording times of 2:23.6 and 2:51, respectively. In addition, Ethan Ambrosh bested the 200M record by a hair with a time of 25.69 seconds, and Annie Ulfelder set three new school records in the 100M (13.8s), the 200M (29.8s), and the shot put (25'4").
