Shore is pleased to announce that it has secured licensing to stage the Disney musical 'Mary Poppins.' Theatre Arts teacher Sarah Carlin will direct the Mainstage winter musical in Shore's state-of-the-art Theatre.

The musical theatre adaptation of P.L. Travers classic story is a breathtaking blend of magic and sensational theatricality. The message in this wonderful story remains an important one for young people to remember, and is as applicable today as when it was first written: with an outlook of hope and optimism, one has the power to manage the challenges of life.

In the story about the dysfunctional Banks family, Mr. and Mrs. Banks are too involved in other things to give much attention to their children, Jane and Michael, and consequently, the children misbehave to get the attention they desire. At a critical moment in their lives, Mary Poppins arrives at their doorstep, offering them a new perspective. During her time with the Banks family, she teaches them to value the important things in life (family, friendship, and imagination). Even when things look bleak or one is faced with challenges, being open to possibility and discovering the extraordinary things all around us in everyday life will bring its own magic.
