    Admissions Middle School Open House

    Trustey Family Theatre
Applicants for middle school grades (6-9) and their families are invited to learn why Shore students are accepted at the region’s best secondary schools.

Meet Head of School Larry Griffin and engage with teachers and students to learn about our exceptional arts and science programs, Harkness discussion tables, and outdoor and experiential learning curriculum.

During the evening, students will participate in two hands-on activities while parents will attend two panels of choice. Find more information about these panels below.  We invite you to complete this form to select which two panels you would like to attend.

Following the panels and activities, we will all reconvene in the Trustey Theatre to hear more about how Shore students are Inspired for Life.  Alumni, past parents, and current parents will share their first-hand insights about the lasting impact of a Shore education.

Here is more information about the four panels you can choose to attend.

Panel 1: Venture Outside Comfort Zones: At Shore, we treasure the comfort we feel in our community which allows us all to challenge ourselves and try new things. Whether it is attending one of our overnight trips, trying out for an athletic team, or performing for the first time on stage, our students know they will be supported as they grow in new ways.

Panel 2: Engage with Mentors: Our teachers are extraordinary. They inspire children to embrace a lifelong love of learning, participate with students in energetic music groups, coach our athletic teams, and guide students on a variety of Independent Studies.

Panel 3: Unite in Spirit: Community is a part of the Shore experience.  From connecting through the all-campus House System, to our supportive advisory system, to our campus-wide commitment to community service, come learn more about the one-of-a-kind Shore family.

Panel 4: Empower the Learners: Shore's students are entrusted with responsibility for their own learning, and nowhere is that clearer than in our Innovation Lab or around our Harkness Tables. Learning in our Upper School is interactive and energizing.

To select which panels you would like to attend, please complete the following form.

Community Connections (Alex Myers, author of Revolutionary)

    Theatre
Free and open to the public. All are welcome.

An abridged version of a review of his book states: “Alex Myers’ debut novel, Revolutionary, is more than an accounting of Deborah Sampson’s amazing Revolutionary war feat of enlisting and serving a three-year tour in the army disguised as a man; it is an exploration of the irony of such circumstances. In following her true nature–who she is at heart–Deborah creates for herself a duplicitous life fraught with personal risk.”
